Modern and efficient.

Our vehicles leave their mark on your life. They are safe and reliable companions at work and in leisure time. Over a long period of time. When it comes to the environment, however, we want to leave as few traces as possible. That's why this engine is one of the cleanest on the market.

The highlights of the 4-cylinder diesel engines.

One of the cleanest engines of our time: Virtually no nitrogen oxides are emitted from our models as these are almost completely removed from the exhaust gases. This is carried out by the proven selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. It could hardly get any cleaner.
All models already meet the Euro 6 emissions standard.

The details:

  • Innovative technology: the common-rail diesel technology boasts an increased injection pressure of up to 2000 bar, optimised combustion chambers and extremely fast-switching, high-precision injectors. Quick start ceramic glow plugs improve the engine's cold-running characteristics.
  • Great power and refinement: High ignition pressure and two-stage charging delivers high torque in every engine speed range. Two balance shafts ensure smooth operation.
  • Easy on the environment: the ECO start/stop function ensures that the engine is temporarily switched off if the vehicle is stationary, thereby saving fuel. In addition, the ECO display in the instrument cluster provides information about how efficient the driver's driving style is, inspiring them to modify their behaviour and thereby reducing fuel consumption.

Figures in brackets apply to vehicles with automatic transmission.

[1] Figures for rated output and rated torque in accordance with Directive 80/1269/EEC in the currently applicable version.

[2] The figures shown for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were obtained in accordance with the prescribed measuring process (Regulation [EC] 715/2007 in its currently applicable version). The figures are not based on an individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the product offer; they are provided solely for purposes of comparison between different vehicle models.
