The vehicle interior offers the exquisite comfort you expect from a supercar. Thanks to its sporty seating comfort and innovative controls, it is possible to enjoy the SLS AMG Roadster’s superb dynamic performance across the board.

AMG DRIVE UNIT The functional highlight in the interior is the AMG DRIVE UNIT which is inclined towards the driver Enjoy the jet-inspired design of the new E-SELECT selector lever for the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. The driver can choose between P, R, N and D modes by simply touching lightly on the drive-by-wire system. If the vehicle is stationary, the park position is activated by simply pressing the P button – this also happens automatically when the engine is switched off. The rotary control switch for drive modes (including the Race Start function) and buttons for engine start, ESP® functions, AMG memory function and the extendable rear spoiler are also located here.
AMG instrument cluster The AMG instrument cluster (including AMG main menu and RACETIMER), with two round instruments sure to appeal to purists, is the heart of the control unit. In the driver's field of vision: the AMG instrument cluster provides information such as road speed, engine speed, fuel level and engine oil temperature. Between the round dials, the driver receives additional data, including kilometre reading, range, fuel consumption, driving distance, driving time and average speed. Always in the right gear: The instrument panel also features an upshift indicator, which uses seven LEDs to indicate the best time to change gear. Start your engine: When the ignition is turned on, the speedometer and rev counter indicators move across the whole range of the dials together before returning to their initial position.
AMG performance steering wheel The AMG Performance Steering Wheel with a flattened lower section is a 3-spoke steering wheel in nappa leather/Alcantara®. Silver-coloured aluminium steering wheel gearshift paddles make for fast gear changes and highlight the sporty character of the SLS AMG Roadster.
KEYLESS-GO start function The KEYLESS-GO start-up function makes starting the SLS AMG Roadster much easier. The vehicle is locked/unlocked automatically by simply pressing a button on the transponder. The engine is started using the central start/stop button on the AMG DRIVE UNIT in the cockpit.
THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control The new SLS AMG Roadster also meets the expectations placed on a Mercedes/AMG supercar regarding climate comfort and control. THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control is included as standard to ensure a pleasant atmosphere in the vehicle interior. It enables the temperature to be controlled separately for driver and passenger. Always the right temperature: Using sensors to account for external factors such as sunshine, air quality and humidity, THERMOTRONIC keeps temperatures at the specified levels at all times. Comfort at the touch of a button: a powerful air-conditioning compressor is responsible for cooling the vehicle interior quickly and efficiently. Optimum air distribution: cool air flows through the four centre vents in the instrument panel (multi-adjustable cross vents), two openings in the A-pillars, three at the windscreen and one in each footwell. Permanent monitoring: sensors continuously monitor the interior temperature, the temperature of the air flowing from the vents, the air humidity, as well as the intensity and angle of sunlight. Clean air: a pollutant sensor monitors carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide concentrations outside the vehicle. Should pollutant levels rise rapidly, the air recirculation flap is closed automatically.
Memory package (optional) The memory package takes the stress out of frequent driver changes by storing the individual settings for both seats. As soon as a driver selects a setting with the touch of a button, electric controls automatically set the seat, head restraints, steering column and exterior mirrors back to the previously saved positions. In addition, when the driver engages reverse gear, the passenger side exterior mirror adjusts to a position affording better visibility.
