The new B-Class sets future-oriented standards in the compact class. By integrating a multitude of assistance and safety systems from higher Mercedes-Benz vehicle classes the safety level and the ride comfort has been significantly improved.
We are looking forward. Vehicles from Mercedes-Benz works with intelligent sensor systems which "think" ahead for the protection of the occupants. Because ultimately each journey should be as safe and comfortable as possible. So in the new B-Class COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST is in use for the first time as standard in a vehicle of this class. It monitors the area in front of the vehicle via radar and can warn drivers about crashes and rear-end collisions in good time. |

We have the entire road in view. The new assistance systems don’t just monitor preceding vehicles. For example the optional Lane Keeping Assist scans the road markings and warns the driver with a subtle steering wheel vibration when the system detects that the vehicle may be unintentionally drifting out of the lane. In addition the optional Blind Spot Assist uses two radar sensors to monitor the poorly visible area directly next to and behind the vehicle. |

We also have an eye on the driver. Our attention doesn’t just stop at the car. We also keep an eye on the driver. With the standard-specification ATTENTION ASSIST the new B-Class has an innovative drowsiness detection system which can be especially useful on long trips. Between 80 and 180 km/h, ATTENTION ASSIST warns the driver visually and audibly as soon as it registers any signs of drowsiness or inattention. |
