Both the latest generation of the E 63 AMG and the new E 63 AMG 4MATIC open a new chapter in the field of high-performance saloons from Affalterbach. The AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine – already tried and tested in the preceding model – with its effortlessly superior power delivery of 410 kW, is at the centre of the extensive optimisation measures – even more output and great efficiency. The vehicles impress with their dynamism and top-level innovative technology, always leaving it up to the driver to choose between a sporty and a more comfort-oriented style of driving. For the first time, the new E 63 AMG can be combined with a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system specifically developed for AMG. The performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel drive system of the E 63 AMG offers a combination of the best possible traction and the neutral handling characteristics typical of AMG. A planetary centre differential with a torque distribution ratio biased towards the rear axle of 33 : 67 as well as a light pre-lock effect. Depending on the ESP® stage chosen, wheel-specific braking interventions (Torque Vectoring) and engine management adjustments counteract the initial understeer tendency typical of all-wheel drive systems. The result is agile and at the same time comfortable cornering of the vehicle towards the centre of the bend.
