AMG axles with special front steering knuckles and AMG-specific elastokinematics The AMG axles have independent steering knuckles on the front axle and elastokinematics specific to AMG. All axle bearings are stiffer than series-produced bearings. These measures bring about more immediate, direct steering and handling and greater lateral acceleration. Only available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
AMG Performance suspension (optional) Thanks to the approximately 20 percent tighter tuning of the springs and damping, the lateral dynamics of the vehicle are improved, thereby facilitating an even sportier driving style. Only available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
AMG Sports Suspension The AMG sports suspension, with an exclusively developed AMG front and rear axle, provides the ideal prerequisites for fast cornering and responsive handling. All the components are tuned to give high lateral acceleration and a reduced rolling motion. Only available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
AMG speed-sensitive sports steering with speed-dependent power assist The AMG Sport speed-sensitive steering provides absolute steering precision and direct understeer/oversteer characteristics. Only available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
Suspension with lowered ride height (optional) The suspension with lowered ride height combines agility and ride comfort as the result of the shock absorbers automatically adjusting to the condition of the road. Springs and dampers have a sporty tuning and the ride height of the vehicle is lowered by 15 millimetres. Only in conjunction with AMG Line and Dynamic Handling package.
Comfort suspension The comfort suspension strikes a balance between comfort and dynamics with sufficient spring travel and optimum compensation of lateral forces. Low dynamic wheel load fluctuations as well as low pitch and roll movements improve vehicle control and handling safety. not available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
Off-road comfort suspension For the off-road comfort suspension the vehicle body is raised by 30 millimetres. This leads to better off-road capability through the greater ground clearance, a higher seat position with a better overview and a more striking off-road look. Additionally this suspension variant has its own steering tuning. Not available for the GLA 200 CDI, GLA 220 CDI, GLA 200, GLA 250 and GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
Speed-sensitive power steering Speed-sensitive steering provides variable power assist dependent on speed. At high speeds the level of power assist decreases, while at low speeds it is continually increased. Steering requires relatively little effort at low speeds. Even at high speeds the steering system provides optimal vehicle control. The integrated steering assist function can help the driver in critical handling situations and embodies precise handling. Not available for the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC.
Sport Direct-Steer system (optional) The Sports Direct-Steer system adds to the comfort of speed-sensitive power steering with a variable steering ratio dependent on the steering wheel angle. The vehicle's response to the steering angle becomes more agile and steering requirements are reduced.
