Audio 20 USB The Audio 20 USB with radio, dual tuner and telephone keypad also allows mobile devices to be networked via Bluetooth®. This interface features a hands-free facility and audio streaming for playing music files. It also allows you to transfer contacts from your mobile phone to the head unit, provided this function supports PBAP (Phonebook Access Profile). Audio 20 CD with touchpad (optional) This multimedia system combines entertainment with information and communication: The Audio 20 CD with touchpad, navigation, radio, dual tuner and CD player also allows mobile devices to be networked via Bluetooth®. The touchpad is integrated in the hand rest of the central control unit. It offers a fully fledged additional input option for controlling the multimedia systems and for handwriting recognition and features both single and multitouch operation. The optional Garmin® MAP PILOT turns the Audio 20 with touchpad into a fully fledged navigation system. It is activated by simply inserting the SD card containing the navigation software and map data. The high-resolution colour map is shown on the generously proportioned display of the multimedia system. 3D views with precise road and building images as well as photo-realistic Cross-Traffic Assist and Lane Assistant systems help orientation. The standard-specification Mercedes-Benz apps "MB-Radio" and "Country information" can be used with a Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone with a data option. Browsing on the internet is also possible so long as the vehicle is stationary. The Bluetooth® interface features a hands-free function and audio streaming for playing music files. It also allows you to transfer contacts from your mobile phone to the head unit, provided this function supports PBAP (Phonebook Access Profile). The CD player can also be used to play MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC files. A Cover Art function shows album covers in the audio menu. Burmester® surround-sound system (optional) Making every piece of music an experience – the Berlin-based company has targeted exceptional sound quality. Enjoy the unique qualities of this system in your vehicle. 13 high-performance speakers and electronic and acoustic elements precisely coordinated with the interior deliver first-class Burmester® sound. The surround function and sound optimisation create a more intensive listening experience for the front and rear seats. The 9-channel DSP amplifier distributes its 590 W output perfectly across the speaker system. The surround function generates a virtual surround sound from a mono or stereo music signal. The sound can also be adapted for the front or rear seats. Thanks to highly developed Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC) technology, a consistent sound performance is maintained to guarantee optimum listening pleasure – whether you're on the motorway or in city traffic. Only available in conjunction with Audio 20 CD with a touchpad or COMAND Online.
Digital radio (DAB) (optional) A concealed DAB aerial integrated in the rear windscreen and a digital tuner can receive terrestrial digital radio programmes. DAB digital radio offers excellent reception quality and valuable additional information about e.g. traffic or the radio programme. Only available in conjunction with Audio 20 CD with a touchpad or COMAND Online.
Head-up display (optional) Keep an overview of key driver information without taking your eyes off the road – thanks to the head-up display. It projects a virtual image (approx. 21 x 7 centimetres) within the driver's field of vision. This image appears to float over the bonnet around two metres ahead of the driver. According to equipment, the system displays navigation instructions, current speed, speed limits and TEMPOMAT cruise control and DISTRONIC PLUS settings. A special light sensor adapts the brightness of the display in line with ambient light conditions. This ensures that the display remains clearly visible even on sunny days or at night. The height of the image can be varied according to the size of the driver. This height setting is stored (in combination with the seat memory function). The display content and brightness are also individually selectable.
Convenience Telephony (optional) A universal interface in the armrest lets you connect mobile phones conveniently to the vehicle's speaker phone. To do so, just insert the mobile phone into the a phone cradle (accessory) matching the device. Comfort Telephony enables you to operate your mobile phone via the Controller in the centre console, the touchpad, the multifunction steering wheel or the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system. The CENTRAL MEDIA DISPLAY serves as the screen. Networking allows access to the phone's address book. It is also possible to scroll through the address book and numbers can be dialled directly. The audio system is muted during a phone call. If the driver receives a call, the caller's name or number is displayed (provided the number has not been withheld). The driver can also write, send and receive text messages and e-mails. Messages received (texts, e-mails) can be read out.
Media Interface (optional) Current chart hits, your favourite films or clips – personalising on-the-move entertainment. Now everyone can enjoy multimedia entertainment on every journey. A universal interface in the centre console lets you easily connect portable media players such as iPod® or iPhone®. The audio and video contents are thus conveniently controlled and reproduced first-class via the infotainment systems of the vehicle. Operation, through the controller or steering wheel buttons, is simple and safe. Additional information (if available) such as track, album, artist etc. can be shown on the vehicle display. Video content from compatible devices can also be played on the display via the COMAND Online multimedia system. Once the portable media player has been connected, the following functions are available: Playback of all audio tracks (DRM-protected tracks from iPod® only) Play iPod® and iPhone® videos (in conjunction with the multimedia system COMAND Online) Album selection using Cover Art Cover art shown for track being played (if available) Display shows the artist, track and album details for the current track (if available as an ID3 tag for the audio file), along with a progress bar indicating elapsed playback time Selection from category lists Random playback function (title/media mix) Charging function Last-mode function: The current track plays from the point where it stopped when the vehicle's ignition was last switched off Keyword search in the metadata of the connected device Voice-activated keyword search Track skip in both directions and fast forward/rewind
Travel and restaurant guide (optional) Where is the nearest hotel? Where was that fabulous bistro again? This digital service answers this type of question quickly by finding interesting locations in the immediate vicinity or at your destination. The ViaMichelin travel and restaurant guide provides extensive information about restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and routes 36 European countries. By inserting an SD memory card the data can be accessed via COMAND Online and used for navigation. Only available in conjunction with the COMAND Online multimedia system.
TV receiver (optional) Watching TV in excellent picture quality and with a large programme selection – the TV receiver makes this also possible in the vehicle. It receives digital stations broadcasting in DVB-T standard and allows access to additional information, such as e.g. electronic TV magazines or video text. Only available in conjunction with the COMAND Online multimedia system.
