The Stowage Space package provides many different aids to tidiness, such as additional luggage nets, a fold-down box in the luggage compartment and a double cup holder in the centre console.

Individual atmosphere: Add a personal touch to your vehicle by harmonising your mood with the interior atmosphere.

The vehicle interior can be fragranced to suit individual tastes with the AIR BALANCE package. There is a choice of four high-quality interior fragrances according to personal preference and mood. Furthermore, the air quality can be improved through ionisation and optimised filtering of interior and exterior air.

A container in the glove compartment holds the small flask. The scents available are NIGHTLIFE MOOD, DOWNTOWN MOOD, SPORTS MOOD and FREESIDE MOOD. Or you can simply fill an additional empty flask (supplied) with your own perfume.

The intensity of the fragrance is self-regulating. Use of this feature does not change the smell of the interior permanently, not do the fragrance molecules settle on the textile surfaces in the car or the occupants' clothing. The fragrance is subtle, is dispersed gently and subsides again quickly.

The system also uses ionised oxygen molecules and air filters to purify the interior air. The AIR-BALANCE Package includes the fragrance FREESIDE MOOD as standard. Other fragrances are available from Mercedes-Benz Accessories.

The combination of AIRMATIC air suspension with the AGILITY SELECT switch allows you to create a driving experience to suit your needs or preferences. Four different drive modes are available at the touch of a button – very comfortable, sporty, very sporty and efficient. You can create a setting to suit you.

In combination with variable damper control, the air suspension system ensures ride comfort and dynamic handling at a very high level. The damping system adjusts to the actual driving and road conditions at each wheel. This is carried out quickly and precisely through two separate valves, for the pull and thrust movements in the dampers.

The passengers enjoy a basic suspension that is soft and, as the speed increases, a secure feeling from the high level of driving stability. The AIRMATIC system can be set to be more comfortable or sportier using the "Comfort" and "Sport" settings. The pneumatic all-round self-levelling system keeps the vehicle body level constant, independently of the load it is carrying.

It can be raised by 25 millimeters to give greater ground clearance. At high speeds, the vehicles lowers itself by up to 15 millimeters, to reduce wind resistance and further increase stability.

Four drive modes can be selected and engaged using the AGILITY SELECT switch in the centre console. The driver can see the operating status in the instrument cluster and the head unit. The control units involved receive the drive mode instruction and execute the settings for the configured parameters in each case. The drive mode activated is shown as the status in the instrument cluster and head unit as a pop-up display message shown for approx. five seconds.

Individual parameters can also be adjusted in the pre-configured drive modes using the buttons for these partial functions. This applies, for example, to the ECO start/stop function or the setting for the vehicle level. A subsequent change of drive mode triggers a change to the settings for the mode in question.

The driver can select the settings for the individual parameters in the "Individual" mode in a configuration menu in the head unit via the Controller in the centre console. This allows the driver to combine, for example, comfortable, light-touch steering with a sporty, harder setting for the AIRMATIC.

The intelligent combination of various safety features is a factor in effectively protecting the vehicle against break-ins, theft and towing. The alarm is triggered if, for example, in the event of unauthorised intrusion or short-circuiting of the ignition lock.

The highlight of our comprehensive safety concept: We make your life easier on long journeys and in traffic congestion. We alert you to dangerous situations and offer a range of measures to help you to handle potential accident scenarios more effectively.

With combinable safety and comfort features, Driving Assistance Package PLUS makes an active contribution to safety on the road. The proximity control, lane change control, blind spot warning and stopping distance optimisation functions can play a crucial role in ensuring a safe journey.

If a potential collision is detected at speeds between 30 and 200 km/h, the PRE-SAFE® brake sends visual and audible signals to the driver. If the driver does not respond to this warning, it initiates autonomous partial braking approximately 1.6 seconds before the calculated impact with a deceleration rate of up to 4m/s2. If the system assesses the situation as highly critical and there is still no reaction from the driver, an independent full brake application can be initiated automatically 0.6 seconds before what has been classified as an unavoidable impact.

If required: In an emergency braking situation, the Brake Assist system BAS PLUS can help to reduce the stopping distance by apply braking pressure according to the situation.

Operating at speeds of between 30 and 250 km/h, Active Blind Spot Assist deploys a radar system to monitor the area behind the vehicle and the blind spots on the left and right. If a vehicle is detected in the monitored area, a warning signal appears in the relevant exterior mirror. If the driver fails to notice the warning and starts to change lane, the system can intervene using ESP®.

Active Lane Keeping Assist continuously monitors lane markings on the road. Should the vehicle drift over a line or marking in an uncontrolled manner, the system can respond with active braking intervention.

DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control maintains the speed set by the driver and automatically controls the distance to the vehicles ahead. Integrated STEER CONTROL helps the driver to hold lane.

Available only in conjunction with 7G-TRONIC PLUS.

Rear seat safety is enhanced by the combination of sidebags and adaptive belt force limiters on the outside rear seats. The belt force limiters adapt to the size and weight of the passengers. The sidebags protect the occupants in the chest area in the event of a side-on collision.

The Interior Lighting Package generates more illumination and enhanced visibility in the interior. This includes an indirect illumination of the footwells and handle recesses, illuminated elements in the centre console, reading lights in the rear and exit/warning lights in all doors.

The system conveniently opens, starts and locks the vehicle – just by carrying the electronic key. The HANDS-FREE ACCESS function allows contact-free and fully automatic opening and closing of the boot.

Parking as if by magic: All you need to do is operate the accelerator, the vehicle does the rest. It doesn't get much easier. This is achieved by two intelligent components in this package.

Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and a reversing camera makes finding a parking space (either parallel to the kerb or in car parks) and parking in it easier. It automatically steers the vehicle into parking spaces and spares the driver the steering and braking actions.

The system uses ultrasonic sensors to determine whether the length of a parallel parking space is big enough. The driver initiates parking by positioning the vehicle next to the indicated space, engaging reverse gear and confirming the process in the instrument cluster.

Active Parking Assist then takes over and guides the vehicle into the parking space. When the reverse gear is engaged, the rear-view camera is switched on automatically. It shows the area directly behind the vehicle on the COMAND Online display and also provides PARKTRONIC information.

In addition, if Active Parking Assist is not used, the PARKTRONIC electronic parking aid monitors the front and rear of the vehicle during manoeuvring and warns the driver if it detects a potential collision.The "automatic pulling out of a parking space" function can be started only if the vehicle was previously parked in a parallel parking space using Active Parking Assist.

Once you've got in, you'll never want to get out. Seats enter a new dimension with this package. It doesn't get much easier than this.

Numerous mechanical and electrical adjustment options as well as an electropneumatic 4-way lumbar support enable you to set an individual and ergonomic seating position. This boosts seating comfort for driver and front passenger on longer journeys in particular.

Both exterior mirrors are electrically folding to protect the mirror housing from damage, e.g. when parking. For improved vision and visibility the exterior mirror on the driver's side and the interior mirror automatically dim continuously.

We keep you on track. And warn you if another vehicle gets too close to you. Or you to the other vehicle. An intelligent system that you will soon come to appreciate.

The combination of Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist bears a two-fold safety benefit. The systems can warn drivers visually and audibly of vehicles in the blind spot and use pulsating steering-wheel vibrations to indicate inadvertent lane departures.

If a vehicle is detected in the blind spot area, a red triangle appears in the relevant exterior mirror. If the driver fails to notice the warning and indicates to signal a lane change, the warning light starts to flash and an audible warning is sounded.

Lane Keeping Assist can identify an unintentional drifting out of lane, send a haptic warning (steering-wheel vibrations) to the driver.

Sharpen your senses. The smooth gear changes of the 7-speed automatic transmission are barely perceptible. What is perceptible is the powerful engine. The 7G-TRONIC PLUS delivers outstanding performance even at slow engine speeds. What was already a low noise level just got lower.

The 7-speed automatic transmission combines a high level of comfort with driving pleasure and efficiency. It impresses with smooth operation and rapid gearshifts. At the same time, the 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission contributes to reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

You can inject quick bursts of speed at any time. The transmission system's multiple downshift capability allows several gears to be skipped if required, offering a powerful acceleration potential in fractions of a second. And the integrated ECO start/stop function delivers improved fuel consumption: It switches the engine off and on automatically when waiting at traffic lights or in traffic jams.

Parameters such as the characteristics of the engine, transmission, suspension and steering system are adapted in line with the selected drive mode.

Select from five drive modes, covering everything from comfortable to sporty and efficient. The standard setting is the balanced and consumption-optimised "Comfort" mode.

The drive mode "Sport" with more progressive steering response delivers greater agility and dynamic performance thanks to "sporty firm" suspension tuning (with AIRMATIC), spontaneous throttle response and modified shift points (with 7G-TRONIC PLUS). Sports performance can be further enhanced in "Sport+" mode,. where suspension and drive system are tuned even more dynamically.

The larger capacity of 25 litres of this SCR reservoir increases the vehicle's range until the next top-up with urea. The boot capacity is reduced by about 20 litres as a result.

Lowering the vehicle by 15 mm and featuring a firmer suspension/damping configuration, this sporty variant of the AGILITY CONTROL suspension allows a more dynamic driving style. The selective, passive damping system continues to deliver high driving comfort.

Now you have a full overview when manoeuvring, enabling you to park more easily: The rear-view camera can be extended by adding cameras to monitor the areas to the sides and directly in front of the vehicle and displaying these images on the COMAND Online screen.

This system makes parking and manoeuvring with a realistic all-round view possible with the help of four networked cameras. The vehicle and its surroundings can be shown in a bird's-eye view on the COMAND Online display, and obstacles below the window line are also visible to the driver.

Two views are available simultaneously on the screen. The standard set-up is the "Top View" (i.e. bird's eye view) on the left and a detailed view on the right. This changes automatically when the driver switches between forward and reverse gear. The driver can also manually select the preferred detailed view – right up to the display-filling 180° view of the front or rear of the vehicle.

When parking becomes a pleasure. Active Parking Assist helps you to find a parking space, park in parallel and perpendicular spaces, and pull out of parallel spaces. It automatically steers the vehicle into parking spaces and spares the driver the steering and braking actions.

If the vehicle is moving at less than 30 km/h, the system indicates automatically that it has found a suitable parking space. By default the system looks on the right side of the road, when the left-side turn indicator is activated also on the left side of the road.

If the driver engages reverse gear and confirms the suggested parking space, Active Parking Assist automatically carries out the steering manoeuvres. The driver only needs to operate the accelerator and brake pedal; in a maximum of seven moves parking is complete.

Active Parking Assist at a glance:

Today's vehicles offer an increasing number of anticipatory technologies. Our vehicles are becoming "thinking" partners capable of "seeing", "feeling" and even "acting independently". This system is undoubtedly one of the best on the market.

Too small of a gap between vehicles is one of the main causes of severe accidents. COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS helps to minimise the danger of a rear-end collision and mitigate the consequences of an accident. The driving assistance system combines a radar-based distance warning system with Adaptive Brake Assist braking support and independent partial braking.

A warning light appears in the instrument cluster if the distance to the vehicle ahead falls below a preset value for several seconds within the speed range 30 to 250 km/h. An intermittent tone is also sounded if the distance continues to reduce quickly.

A potential collision with a moving object can be identified within the speed range 7 to 250 km/h – and with a stationary obstacle within the range 7 to around 70 km/h. If the driver responds with emergency braking, Adaptive Brake Assist can help. If required, it boosts braking pressure to help prevent a collision where possible.

If the driver does not respond, the system initiates autonomous partial braking. This significantly reduces road speed and the driver receives an additional haptic warning. At low relative speeds, this intervention is sufficient to prevent a rear-end collision.

In contrast to the area of application for Adaptive Brake Assist, independent partial braking in response to moving objects is available only up to 105 km/h – with DISTRONIC PLUS up to 200 km/h.

COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS at a glance:

The innovative driver assistance system automatically helps drivers to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front and removes some of the strain on long journeys and in stop-and-go traffic. COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS warns of falling below the safe following distance visually and audibly.

The radar-based system brakes the vehicle where necessary and then accelerates it again up to the desired speed where this is possible. This reduces the risk of rear-end collisions and increases driving comfort. The choice of "Economy" or "Sport" drive mode also influences the driving characteristics of the automatic proximity control function.

In "Sport" mode, for example, the vehicle accelerates more decidedly and dynamically when changing lane. The system places more emphasis on comfort in the "Economy" mode. "Undertaking" on motorways and similar main roads is prevented by setting the proximity control to vehicles in the overtaking lane.

If there is danger of a collision despite the braking intervention from DISTRONIC PLUS, the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS is actuated to try to prevent an accident occurring.

Available only in conjunction with the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Every Mercedes-Benz vehicle boasts decades of experience in safety technology – making critical situations more and more unlikely. If things should nevertheless get serious, this system is at hand to provide preventive and protective measures.

The PRE-SAFE® system delivers a combination of active and passive protection. Seat belts and airbags can protect vehicle occupants more effectively if they incorporate active systems such as driving assistance packages or Brake Assist.

PRE-SAFE® evaluates sensor data from other systems, such as the Electronic Stability Program ESP® and Brake Assist system BAS, and can identify scenarios such as heavy over/understeer and emergency braking.

The system is able to identify critical handling situations in advance and initiate preventive measures for occupant protection in the event of an impending accident. These include reversible belt tensioning for the front seats and automatic closing of side windows.

The system has the following functions:

Focus on the essentials: On what's happening in front of you. Even if you should really be looking behind you.

Reverse parking and manoeuvring is considerably easier and safer using the rear-view camera. It is activated automatically when reverse gear is engaged and shows the area behind the vehicle (with dynamic guidance lines) on the central display.

In this way the driver has a clear overview of driving manoeuvres. Moving and stationary objects are also shown on the display. In combination with an optional trailer coupling, the system provides an additional function that simplifies the operation/coupling of a trailer using special guidance lines and a zoom mode.

Only available in conjunction with Audio 20 CD with touchpad or COMAND Online.

The daily routine and road traffic are stressful enough. That's why this Assist function is so useful. Your vehicle always has an overview of the current speed limit. Particularly useful on long or monotonous journey.

The system is able to recognise speed limits, "no-entry" and "no-overtaking" signs and their cancellation, and show them in the instrument cluster. If the appropriate signs are posted, the system issues a visual and audible warning when the driver enters a street contrary to road traffic regulations against the specified direction of travel.

Standard equipment in conjunction with the COMAND Online multimedia system.

Acoustic film replaces conventional plastic interlayer in laminated safety glass. This reduces interior noise levels by up to 10 dB. The acoustic film is specially adapted for high-frequency wind noise and low-frequency engine sounds.

This multimedia system combines entertainment with information and communication: The Audio 20 CD with touchpad, navigation, radio, dual tuner and CD player also allows mobile devices to be networked via Bluetooth®.

The touchpad is integrated in the hand rest of the central control unit. It offers a fully fledged additional input option for controlling the multimedia systems and for handwriting recognition and features both single and multitouch operation.

The optional Garmin® MAP PILOT turns the Audio 20 with touchpad into a fully fledged navigation system. It is activated by simply inserting the SD card containing the navigation software and map data. The high-resolution colour map is shown on the generously proportioned display of the multimedia system. 3D views with precise road and building images as well as photo-realistic Cross-Traffic Assist and Lane Assistant systems help orientation.

Navigation, phone, audio, video and Internet – the COMAND Online multimedia system ensures that the driver has these and many other functions within easy reach and under control. Information is shown on a 21.33 cm high-resolution colour display. Operation via touchpad is simple and intuitive.

The touchpad is integrated in the hand rest of the central control unit. Complementing the COMAND Controller, it offers a fully fledged input option for controlling multimedia systems and for handwriting recognition and features both single and multitouch operation.

High-speed hard-drive navigation with realistic topographic map display guides you to your destination safely and smoothly. Navigation data updated free of charge for a three-year period. In combination with a suitable mobile phone it is possible to call up internet pages when the vehicle is stationary, and to use Mercedes-Benz apps such as POI search, weather or internet radio while driving. Integrated WLAN Hotspot also lets you connect a notebook or tablet.

The LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system provides simple and convenient operation of the audio, communication and navigation systems. For example, a phone call can be made by calling out the phone number, and the system can read out text messages and e-mails.

A concealed DAB aerial integrated in the rear windscreen and a digital tuner can receive terrestrial digital radio programmes. DAB digital radio offers excellent reception quality and valuable additional information about e.g. traffic or the radio programme.

Keep an overview of key driver information without taking your eyes off the road – thanks to the head-up display. It projects a virtual image (approx. 21 x 7 centimetres) within the driver's field of vision. This image appears to float over the bonnet around two metres ahead of the driver.

According to equipment, the system displays navigation instructions, current speed, speed limits and TEMPOMAT cruise control and DISTRONIC PLUS settings. A special light sensor adapts the brightness of the display in line with ambient light conditions. This ensures that the display remains clearly visible even on sunny days or at night. The height of the image can be varied according to the size of the driver. This height setting is stored (in combination with the seat memory function). The display content and brightness are also individually selectable.

A universal interface in the armrest lets you connect mobile phones conveniently to the vehicle's speaker phone. To do so, just insert the mobile phone into the a phone cradle (accessory) matching the device.

Comfort Telephony enables you to operate your mobile phone via the Controller in the centre console, the touchpad, the multifunction steering wheel or the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system. The CENTRAL MEDIA DISPLAY serves as the screen. Networking allows access to the phone's address book. It is also possible to scroll through the address book and numbers can be dialled directly.

The audio system is muted during a phone call. If the driver receives a call, the caller's name or number is displayed (provided the number has not been withheld). The driver can also write, send and receive text messages and e-mails. Messages received (texts, e-mails) can be read out.

Where is the nearest hotel? Where was that fabulous bistro again? This digital service answers this type of question quickly by finding interesting locations in the immediate vicinity or at your destination.

The ViaMichelin travel and restaurant guide provides extensive information about restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and routes 36 European countries. By inserting an SD memory card the data can be accessed via COMAND Online and used for navigation.

Watching TV in excellent picture quality and with a large programme selection – the TV receiver makes this also possible in the vehicle. It receives digital stations broadcasting in DVB-T standard and allows access to additional information, such as e.g. electronic TV magazines or video text.

A variable radiator blind helps you to reduce wind resistance and fuel consumption. With lower cooling output requirements, the louvres of the AIRPANEL radiator blind are closed so that air no longer flows through the engine compartment. With its large glazed areas, this roof system ensures a particularly bright and welcoming ambience in the interior. It consists of a fixed panoramic glass rear section and an electrically operated sliding glass front section for ventilation of the interior as required.

Run-flat tyres do not to need to be changed immediately in the event of a puncture. Continuing on is possible without a major loss in comfort – depending on the load for up to 80 kilometres at a top speed of 80 km/h.

This windscreen washer system includes a heated windscreen washer fluid reservoir and windscreen washer fluid hoses to provide more effective protection against freezing. This also ensures that the windows can be cleaned more effectively in low temperatures.

The electronically controlled rain sensor makes driving in inclement weather a more relaxing affair. The system recognises if the windscreen is wet and if the intermittent wiper function is active automatically sets the correct wiping interval for the amount of precipitation.

A sliding roof liner provides protection against direct sunlight. If it rains, the roof automatically moves to a tilt setting.

The electric retractable/extendable roller sunblind for the rear window protects the rear passengers from prying eyes and sunlight glare. It also helps to reduce heat build-up in the interior. See-through material ensures that the view to the rear of the vehicle remains unchanged.

Electrical devices such as a laptop or tablet computer can be connected to the vehicle's power supply with the 230V socket in the rear compartment. It is positioned in the rear section of the centre console or in conjunction with the First-Class Rear appointments in the stowage compartment of the Business console.

The electrically adjustable driver seat provides comfortable and individual adjustment of seating and head restraint positions. Operation is intuitive using ergonomic switches in the door control panel. Settings can be stored and accessed at any time for up to three people.

The auxiliary heating for the interior of the vehicle can be activated conveniently with the radio remote from a distance of up to 300 metres. It signals the successful establishment of a radio connection and shows the remaining heating or ventilation time.

If the rear bench seat has a three-part backrest (40:20:40 split), the centre element can be folded down individually or together with the outer element on the driver's side. The backrest is unlocked from the boot using controls to the left and right under the parcel shelf.

The velour floor mats, which are in the vehicle's appointments colour, blend perfectly with the high-quality interior and protect the footwells effectively against dirt.

The automatic climate control system with three climate zones and three climate modes provides an individual feel-good climate on board. Mercedes-Benz embossed leather has had a tough-wearing dressing and solid colour stain applied. Thanks to this treatment, the leather is particularly easy to care for and robust.

On cold days the seat heating for driver and front passenger quickly provides cosy warmth as desired. The occupants each have a choice between three heating levels at the push of a button.

Thanks to active ventilation, on hot days the climatised seats quickly cool down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature and create a balanced seat climate. In cold weather conditions the on-demand seat heating provides cosy warmth as required.

The ski and snowboard bag is ideal for transporting skis and snowboards - without needing to mount a ski rack and without dirtying the vehicle interior. Up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards can be stowed in and removed from the bag, through the boot, with ease. 

Auxiliary heating can heat or ventilate the vehicle's interior before your journey begins – using a timer, the operating button in the vehicle or by remote control. In winter conditions, this does away with – or shortens – the time-consuming job of scratching ice from frozen windscreens. The fuel-driven system operates independent of the engine.

Cruise control with SPEEDTRONIC allows relaxed and fuel-saving driving especially on long journeys. In addition to the desired cruising speed the system also allow setting an individual top speed, for example, to safely comply with speed limits.
